What is a place without its people? Communities and community wealth building initiatives are central to advancing Scotland’s towns; ensuring economic, social, and environmental value are rooted in local places.
This matters because stronger local economies are more resilient and better able to adapt and respond to change.
Community led approaches, co-design, and inclusive thinking help to ensure that regeneration reflects local priorities, ensures our places have considered all users in its design and function, and, importantly, builds trust in local decision making.
In doing so, communities have a meaningful role in shaping their local places and by becoming active participants, they benefit from the growing local economy while they contribute to pride of place.
