Creetown Initiative
Creetown Initiative is a development trust established in 2002. The organisation has delivered many projects over the years, including an exciting arts and public realm project which remodelled the central town square, Adamson Square. The revamped square is one of the venues for the annual Creetown Country Music Festival, organised by the trust, which is the largest in Scotland.
Other projects include a £1m transformation of a derelict pub into 30-bed budget accommodation (normally running at 80% occupancy), arts and craft shop, office for rent, charity shop, cycle hire/repair and electric car charging. Also, the former St Joseph’s Church has been converted into a performance venue after the development trust set up the Creetown Building Preservation Trust to attract funding from Historic Environment Scotland and others.
