Net Zero

Towns across Scotland are taking a leading role in helping the country achieve its net-zero targets by 2045. Local and community-led initiatives are at the heart of these efforts.

Tackling not only energy use and emissions but also sustainable transport, local food production, reuse and recycling, and the efficient use of resources – is vital. These actions align closely with Scotland’s ambitions for greener, more inclusive, and economically vibrant centres and all support better health and wellbeing, reducing environmental impact and strengthening communities.
